That's the quiet truth about the specialty chain: it runs on introductions. And most of the ones that would change your business haven't happened yet.
Think about how the useful connections in your roastery actually came about. A chance meeting at a cupping. A name passed along by someone who owed you a favour. A supplier you found because a friend of a friend made the call. Almost none of it was systematic. It was luck, timing, and whoever happened to be in the room.
